A missing pregnant marine told her step-mother she was raped, just before she went missing. This could honestly be real, but maybe not. This is another case which is very hard to decipher. One can only imagine what the investigators are going through in their attempt to find facts. From the article: "Maria Lauterbach made the allegation to her stepmother, who also told investigators looking for the 20-year-old lance corporal that her stepdaughter was bipolar and had a history of compulsive lying, the documents filed this week state."
Female Sex Offenders
Most women found guilty of sex offense do not receive nearly the harsh treatment of a male sex offender. Many of them are known to only receive probation after being found guilty of having sex with teenagers and children. Some of them will even play the role of victim to avoid a harsh punishment. The cases in these articles should serve to show the biases used in the legal system that help female pedophiles "get off". Watch out for words such as "affair", "love" and "seduce". These are light compared to the inflammatory words often used when speaking of male sex offenders. If you turn on any mainstream news station, the only sex offenders they show are male. The only females shown are the occasional pretty ones. This anti-male bias creates stereotypes and double-standards. This is without mentioning how quick the media is to portray females as victims in the news and in fiction, particularly if the victimizer is male. If women are equal to men, should they not be held to the same scrutiny and punishments as us? Or, on the other side of that same coin, is it possible that males in the prison system are treated harshly like animals and not offered enough sensitivity to be given a good opportunity to be rehabilitated? It is hard to tell. Are men given too much stereotype in the media? Either way, the gender bias is just sad and unacceptable.
Female Teacher Admits to Sex With 16-Year-Old Female Student
A teacher who is also a coach has been arrested for having sex with a 16-year-old female student. This video calls it a "relationship". There is that word used to describe statutory rape committed by a female again. The victim is now 20 and was recently arrested in an unlreated domestic dispute.
Women Charged With Sexually Assaulting UNC Football Players
Two women and one man kidnapped three UNC football players. The police found all of the victims tied with tape, one naked, one in boxer shorts and the other clothed. The man stripped naked and held a knife to one of the players throats while the women sexually assaulted two of victims. One of them had his pants pulled down and was fondled against his will. Their bond was set at $500,000 each but a female judge lowered the women's bonds to $50,000 each. Prediction: In court, the women will act like victims and blame the man for putting them up to it.
Girl, 13, charged as sex offender and victim
A 13 year old girl and 12 year old boy had sex. They were both charged with having sex with a partner under 14. The article mentions that the Salt Lake, UT court is treating as both sex offender AND victim. She is appealing this with the supreme court. The boy did not appeal. The article does not call the boy a victim even though he was charged the exact same was as the girl. This is a strange case and should most likely be an issue for the parents, not the courts or the media.
Ex-teacher Debra Lafave Busted Again
This time she was picked up for having personal contact with a 17-year-old female co-worker. This was a violation of her probation. She will appear in court. This New York Post article calls her a "temptress", not a statutory-rapist or sex offender.
States Weigh Punishing Child Rapists With Death
An older story, but here is a glimpse of the Foxnews.com article: "WASHINGTON — Lynda Marie Kirby sexually abused her young son in ways more horrible than anyone could imagine, and she should have had to pay a steep price for her crimes. Kirby was originally sentenced to 125 years in prison and was supposed to remain in prison for half that time — 62 1/2 years — before she became eligible for parole. But the case was reversed on appeal; the prosecution couldn't retry the case because it couldn't expose the child to testifying against his mother a second time.
Woman allegedly had relationship with boy, 8
Relationship?
Ex-Tenino [female] teacher sentenced to 60 days
A female high school teacher had sex with a female student. The article refers to the student as a "victim". If the student was a male, I doubt the same terminology would be used. After all, only girls are victims. The teacher was not ordered to stay away from the student. She was originally given three felony charges. One was dropped and the other was lowered to a misdemeanor. She does have to register as a sex offender for 10 years after she is released.
Mom who had child by teen gets probation
A 24-year-old woman had sex with a 14-year-old boy and become pregnant. "I'm not going to break the bond between a parent and an infant," said Judge Kathy A. Morrow. The ironic twist is the the mother of the boy has another son, age 24, who is in jail for getting a teenage girl pregnant. "If she was a man, she would already be in prison," the mother said. "She's only out because she's a woman. A criminal should not be able to hide behind the fact that they have a child." She might not have to be on a sex offender registry. Will the boy pay child support when he turns 18?
