The Violence Against Women Act Legally Sanctions Female To Male Violence

The lies about domestic violence

Some time in the early 90's feminists brought statistics from the U.S. Department of Justice to Senator Joseph Biden regarding domestic violence and intimate partner abuse. I'm not clear on what the precise stat was, but it was something to the effect that nearly all of the DV phone calls made to the police were women calling to report their abusive husbands and boyfriends. Senator Biden accepted this information from the feminists and drafted a law which was eventually voted in and passed in 1994. The law is called The Violence Against Women Act, more commonly known as VAWA. The problem with this law is the fact that it only protects females and labels males the sole perpetrators. What does this mean for men? Your female partner can hit, punch, shove, slap or even pepper spray you, and as long as she tells the police she "felt threatened" (yes, VAWA says that specifically) YOU get arrested and NOT HER. I can not stress that enough. Men get arrested for being the victims more than most people seem to realize.

An example of the system re-victimizing male victims

Here is a 4 minute YouTube clip from the T.V. show COPS. American males need to see this perfect example of how battered men can be arrested on false claims. The woman in the video claims her husband pulled her hair, slapped her, threw her to the ground and pushed her into the cat litter box. She described the brawl as continuously moving through several rooms of the house as they fought. While you watch her statement, notice that her hair is tied up neatly, there is not a scratch on her face and her clothes are not tattered or torn. The husband on the other hand is seen with a bloody face sitting in the back of a cop car in handcuffs claiming she has done this to him in the past. My favorite part of the clip is when the wife admits to the officer that she hit him and attempted to gouge his eyes out with her thumbs and asks if she will be arrested for that. The cop paused briefly before saying "not at this point", then proceeded to arrest the husband.

The truth about domestic violence

The first major "Westernized" nation to do research on this subject based on gender was Australia in 2005. The Australian Bureau of Statistics did a blind study which was titled "The Personal Safety Survey". They asked massive numbers of women and men to fill out a survey form asking about their experiences. The data shows that even though men were three times as likely to cause violence, they are twice as likely to become the victims of both physical violence and threats. 10.8% of the men surveyed claimed to be victims of violence where 5.8% of women made the claim. The study also shows that over the last decade violence toward women in Australia has decreased and men have over time become slightly more likely to become victims than they used to be.

A similar blind study from the U.S. Department of Justice finally shows 1.5 million women and 850,000 men are battered each year. One would think that because this survey is connected to the Justice Department that it might change things, but it still went ignored when the VAWA hearings took place and the law was re-instated. The cost of protecting women from violence includes billions of dollars each year in federal funding and innocent men being battered and arrested for it. Terry Lynn Tersak explains how victims are victimized and how Biden wants to export his agenda to other countries with the International Violence against Women act, or I-VAWA.

Feminists will not allow males to claim to be victims

Here is a 2 minute YouTube Video (embedding disabled by request) of a battered husbands's forum which was interrupted by feminists and feminized males who stormed in uninvited, yelled, screamed and accused the men of being woman beaters.

Women's advocates also fought against Ray Blumhorst, who was arrested after his wife hit him with a book case, leaving him hospitalized and with a slight permanent limp. "There is a definite sense that people are organizing to take away funding for violence against women's services the same way affirmative action has been attacked," said Jovida Guevara-Ross, executive director of Community United Against Violence. She said that arguments that domestic-violence rates are nearly the same between men and women ignore several important factions, including the greater physical harm usually inflicted on women." Goes ignored? The law only protects women, so obviously not. Besides, she ignores the stats that show women are far more likely than men to use objects as weapons during DV to compensate for less physical strength. Let us not forget Mr. Blumhorst is permanently injured because his wife hit his legs with a book case. It is also interesting that she accuses men's advocates of trying to attack women's shelters, which they sometimes do, but not in this case. Mr. Blumhorst is only asking for men to have equal protection under the law and has not made any attacks on victim services for women. It sounds like Ms. Guevara-Ross is repeating the same old feminist idealism where she feels the need to make women appear to be more victimized in general, which automatically implies men are worse people.

Debunking the myth that men cause more harm in a single situation

To debunk the claim that women automatically suffer worse injuries during violence from one gender to the next, there are a few cases which need to be cited where women use household objects and poison as weapons:

1) The first one is of a wife charged with assault for beating her husband over the head with a glass coffee cup, leaving him bloody, and kicking his cell phone out of his hand when he attempted to call the police. She was arrested on everal charges and was given no bond. In order for a woman to be held accountable like this she has to escalate the situation to extreme violence. Punching, shoving, slapping hitting and even spraying mace in a man's eyes unprovoked are all things which this writer has seen on T.V. or read about women getting away with.

2) The next case is of a wife convicted of poisoning her Marine husband to collect on his military insurance policy. She used it to purchase breast implants and had sex with several different men in the weeks following the murder. Sgt. Todd Sommer is dead and his wife faces life in prison. This is surprising considering Mary Winkler murdered her husband and was only sentenced to 2 months in jail. She did a better job of hiding her motive, which was covering up financial fraud, and faked being a victim of spousal abuse to get her charges lowered in court.

3) A woman was arrested for trying to kill her ex-husband with wasps.

4) Finally, Jessica Bressie, 30, cracked her husband's windshield with a baseball bat when he tried to leave her house after an argument. When he exited his car, she beat him with the bat. While he was on the ground, she doused him with charcoal lighter fluid and chased him around the yard with a lighter, threatening to burn him to death. She was charged with first-degree assault and NOT attempted murder.
